Terms that apply to purchases, enquiries, quotations, and transactions with Central Tractors.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all purchases, enquiries, quotations, and transactions with Central Tractors. Placing an order or accepting a quotation confirms acceptance of these terms. If any term is unclear, contact our team before purchase. These terms should be read together with our Shipping Policy, Returns and Refunds Policy, and Privacy Policy.
Definitions
- Central Tractors, we, us, our refers to Central Tractors.
- Customer, you, your refers to the buyer, whether an individual or business.
- Products refers to tractors, used tractors, tractor equipment, truck engines, truck spare parts, and related items supplied by Central Tractors.
- Order refers to any purchase, accepted quotation, invoice, or confirmed request for Products.
Orders and quotations
Quotations are based on current stock availability, supplier pricing, and freight estimates. Unless stated otherwise, a quotation is valid only for the period shown on the quote. Stock may be sold before payment is received.
- Orders are confirmed when payment is received in full, a confirmed deposit is received, written order confirmation is issued, or goods are dispatched or released for collection.
- Central Tractors may decline or cancel an order if stock is unavailable, a pricing error occurs, payment verification fails, or delivery cannot reasonably be completed.
Pricing and payments
Prices may change without notice because of supplier changes, exchange-rate movement, market availability, or freight adjustments. Confirmed orders are supplied at the price stated on the invoice or written order confirmation.
- Payment is required before dispatch unless account terms are approved in writing.
- Taxes, duties, and import charges apply according to the customer location and applicable laws unless confirmed otherwise in writing.
- Bank charges, card fees, or payment-gateway fees may apply where relevant and will be disclosed before order completion.
Product information and fitment
Central Tractors provides product descriptions, images, and specifications in good faith. Manufacturers or prior owners may change specifications, design details, or packaging without notice.
Customers are responsible for confirming compatibility before purchase, especially for engines, gearboxes, sensors, drivetrain parts, attachments, and other fitment-sensitive items. Provide accurate vehicle or tractor details, including model, year, engine code, chassis details, and part numbers where available.
If a product is ordered without confirming fitment, return eligibility may be limited under the Returns and Refunds Policy.
Used tractors and used equipment
Used tractors and used equipment are sold according to their age, prior use, and condition. Cosmetic wear, paint fading, surface rust, and normal mechanical wear can be expected unless stated otherwise in writing.
Condition notes describe visible observations at the time of inspection and are not a guarantee of future performance. Pre-purchase inspection or viewing is recommended where possible.
Shipping, delivery, and risk
Delivery dates are estimates only and can change due to carrier schedules, weather, road access, customs processes, or other factors outside our reasonable control.
- Risk transfers to the customer when the Products are collected by the customer or customer-appointed carrier.
- Risk also transfers when the Products are delivered to the nominated address, depot, or agreed collection point and accepted or signed for.
- Customers must inspect deliveries promptly and report damage, shortages, or delivery issues within the timeframes stated in the Shipping Policy.
Returns, refunds, exchanges, and cancellations
Returns and refunds are governed by our Returns and Refunds Policy. Eligibility depends on product category, condition, return timing, and whether the item has been installed, used, altered, or specially sourced.
Order cancellations are assessed case by case. Processing fees, supplier charges, restocking fees, or freight already incurred may be deducted where applicable. Any such charges are confirmed during cancellation assessment.
Warranty and limitation of liability
Some Products may include a manufacturer warranty or a Central Tractors warranty where this is stated on the invoice, quotation, or product documentation. Warranty claims may require proof of purchase, photos, service records, installation records, and inspection.
- Warranty does not cover incorrect installation, misuse, overload, abuse, poor maintenance, contamination, accidents, water ingress, unauthorized modification, welding, grinding, or normal wear and tear.
- To the extent permitted by law, Central Tractors is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including downtime, loss of income, or missed contracts.
- Where liability applies, it is limited to repair, replacement, or refund of the product value, at our discretion and subject to applicable law.
Customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate delivery details and contact information
- Arrange safe access and unloading for heavy freight where required
- Use qualified technicians for installation when appropriate
- Follow manufacturer instructions for operation and maintenance
Intellectual property and privacy
All website content, logos, product listings, and images remain the property of Central Tractors or the relevant rights holder. Use, copying, or reproduction without written permission is not allowed.
Personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy and is used to process orders, arrange deliveries, and provide service support.
Governing law and updates
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in South Africa unless a signed agreement or invoice states otherwise. Central Tractors may update these terms from time to time, and the latest published version applies to new orders from the date of publication.
